This policy sets out the rules for subscription payments, automatic renewal, withdrawal of purchase, and refunds for griing, the AI English conversation service (the “Service”) operated by Foo AI Corp. (the “Company”). Paid subscriptions are purchased on the web only; the Service does not offer in-app purchases. The payment processor depends on the user’s payment region. Payments by users in Korea are processed through PortOne (a domestic Korean payment gateway), and payments by users outside Korea are processed by Paddle acting as the Merchant of Record. Matters not addressed here are governed by the Service’s Terms of Service and applicable law, including the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the Content Industry Promotion Act, and the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions.
The paid subscription fees are KRW 99,000 per year (VAT included) and KRW 14,900 per month (VAT included). For users outside Korea, prices are shown in the equivalent amount in US dollars (USD), and any applicable taxes are calculated and shown separately by Paddle at checkout. Paid subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel, your subscription renews at the end of each billing cycle (monthly for the monthly plan, yearly for the annual plan) on the same terms, and the fee for the next cycle is charged to your registered payment method. The Company sends advance notice of the upcoming charge date, amount, and cancellation method by email or in-app notification before the first charge after the free trial and before each renewal.
The Company offers new users a 7-day free trial. No fee is charged during the free trial. If you cancel at any time before the free trial ends, you will not be charged, and cancellation takes effect immediately from your account settings in the app or on the web. When the free trial ends, your subscription automatically converts to the paid plan you selected, and the first fee is charged. The Company notifies you that the free trial is ending and that the paid conversion will occur before the first charge.
Under Article 17 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, you may withdraw your paid subscription within 7 days from the date the contract is concluded or the date the Service is supplied. However, under Article 17(2) of the same Act, the right of withdrawal may be limited for the portion of digital content or a service that has already begun to be provided. The Company clearly discloses this limitation in this policy and at checkout, and provides a 7-day free trial (an opportunity for trial use) before any charge so that your right of withdrawal is not obstructed. If you have not made substantial use of the Service after conversion to the paid plan, you will receive a full refund upon withdrawal within 7 days. For any divisible portion of digital content or a service that has not yet begun to be provided, withdrawal remains available regardless of use. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights of withdrawal and refund guaranteed by applicable law.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings in the app or on the web. Once you cancel, you will not be charged from the next renewal date. As a rule, the fee already paid for the current billing cycle is not refunded on a pro-rata basis, and you may continue to use the Service until the end of that cycle. However, for continuous-transaction contracts supplied for one month or more, such as the annual plan, you may, under Article 31 of the Act on Door-to-Door Sales, terminate the contract at any time during its term and request a refund of the amount corresponding to the remaining period not yet provided. In that case, the Company refunds the balance after deducting the fee for the period already used and a reasonable cancellation charge within the limits set by applicable law (not exceeding 10% of the remaining amount). Where a discount was applied to the annual plan, the period already used may be settled at the standard (non-discounted) price.
Once a refund is confirmed, the Company begins the refund within 3 business days from the date it receives your withdrawal or termination request, in accordance with Article 18 of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Refunds are, as a rule, issued to the same payment method used for the original payment. Depending on the procedures of the payment method, payment processor, or card issuer (such as card payment reversal or account transfer), additional time may be required before the refund is reflected to you, in which case the Company will explain the reason.
Refunds for users in Korea are processed through PortOne (a domestic payment gateway) to the original payment method. If a cash receipt was issued for the payment being refunded, that cash receipt is also cancelled. Refunds for users outside Korea are processed by Paddle, the Merchant of Record, to the payment method used for the original payment. In either case, you may request a refund from the Company using the methods in Article 9, and the Company will process the refund in cooperation with the relevant payment provider.
For payments by users outside Korea, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd. and its affiliates) acts as the Merchant of Record and the seller of record. Accordingly, Paddle handles billing, the assessment and remittance of applicable taxes (such as VAT and sales tax), and refund processing for overseas transactions. Paddle, or a descriptor identifying it, may appear as the seller on your payment statement. The Company is the provider of the Service, and refunds for overseas payments are carried out in accordance with Paddle’s refund procedures. This section does not limit any rights guaranteed to you by applicable law.
You can cancel your subscription directly from your account settings in the app or on the web. If you need to withdraw a purchase or request a refund, you can do so by emailing contact@griing.com with your payment account (the email used at sign-up) and the details of your request, or by using the customer support menu within your app or web account. The Company will review your request without delay and inform you of the outcome.
If a minor made a payment without the consent of their legal guardian, the user or the legal guardian may cancel that payment and request a refund under Article 5 of the Civil Act. In that case, the Company refunds the full payment amount in accordance with applicable law. Exceptions apply where cancellation is legally restricted, such as where the legal guardian consented to the payment or the minor used deceptive means to be believed an adult.
If the Service is not provided normally due to reasons attributable to the Company, you may request a refund of the fee corresponding to the interruption period or an extension of your subscription term. The Company will verify the nature and duration of the disruption, decide whether to issue a refund or extend the term, and inform you.
The Company may revise this policy in response to changes in applicable law or service policy. When revising, the Company states the effective date and the reason for the change and posts it on the website at least 7 days before it takes effect. For changes that are unfavorable to users or material, the Company posts notice at least 30 days in advance and, where feasible, gives individual notice by email or similar means. A revised policy is not applied retroactively to the disadvantage of users for a subscription cycle already in progress.
